Tail Life hopes to draw attention to the plight of rescue animals, feeling they are often overlooked for adoption given most aren’t purebreds and have imperfections. Tragically, millions of adoptable animals are euthanized every single year, simply because there aren’t enough fosters or adopters to care for them all.
Thankfully, through the gallant efforts of rescue groups around the world, many forgotten, neglected, and abused animals do, in fact, experience their “fairy tail come true,” finding loving families who adore them with their imperfections. These animals become some of the lucky ones, escaping the horrors of suffering on the streets or being euthanized at a high-kill shelter.

North Florida Rescue is based out of Blountstown, Florida, but has an arm of its organization in the state of Maine. Comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers, NFR saves animals from high-kill shelters in the Panhandle area of northwest Florida. It has also taken on dogs who Karis has personally rescued from the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas and found them the most amazing homes.
NFR’s volunteers network, transport, foster, take the animals for vet services, and do anything else necessary to save them. NFR volunteers help animals when they have no other place to go and never give up until an animal has found a forever home. Check out NFR’s website, and donate if you can to help this amazing organization.
